It was supposed to fly from CUN-LGW yesterday but now says it will be delayed until Monday! Any ideas?

We are supposed to be on the Tuesday VS094 which I assume will now be hugely delayed?

Hi all,
I just got home from the delayed VS94 which was due to take off CUN on 01st June, original crew from Saturday were on this flight so shouldn't affect future flightd I was told.

The fun and games at CUN on Saturday night was epic to say the least

Big tropical storm sitting over cancun down towards tulum for the last few days. Not a hurricane but lots of rain and some flooding. Looks to be clearing in the next few days all being well.

Pretty much what pmramsay said bad weather.
What we were told was flight couldnt land at Cun so diverted to Cozumel but then there was a small window in which the plane could get to CUN but the crew work hrs were up so had to have the rest period before commencing so no crew for plane so plane stayed put till leaving 48hrs later.

Lots of angry pax hurling abuse at VA staff which I thought was uncalled for, yes we were kept in the dark to what was happening which i did find annoying v( (really needs addressing VA) but the rain was torrential and the thunder was felt inside the terminal building so the chances of flying were extremely thin.

With regards to when things like this happen, is it not a case that you are being 'kept in the dark' as to what is happening, simply because no-one yet knows what is happening, or people are frantically trying to arrange things? I appreciate that not hearing anything can be very frustrating, but sometimes saying something as simple as "we are arranging accommodation for you" to 400 passengers could unleash a whole load of further questions.

Just a thought!

StillRedHot I hear what your saying and agree to some extent as situations have to be kept under control but at the time the departure board was showing 'delayed' for over 2hrs and when VA staff were asked why they said 'dont know but as soon a we do we will let you know' ?|

This was contradicting as UC pax were privilaged to more info throughout the delay through regular updates from VA staff to them in the business lounge , they shared it with other pax and through the grapvine all pax knew what was happening evenually but not through the conventional route which is unfortunate. I did experience this first hand so it wasnt hearsay.

In fairness to VA once we got the first announcement over the PA system at 9:15 v( as to what was happening, by 10:40 we were pulling up outside a hotel with our bags to be checked in for the night which I thought was quick. y)

Ah yes, in that case I fully agree with you that if there was information then it should have been told to all!

Glad to hear the hotel arrangements were swift though!

I was certainly frustrated myself at the disruptive travel plans but I'm sure VA did everything they possible could to avoid putting us pax up for two nights which must have amounted to a pretty penny, it's just a shame that other pax couldnt see that and at the time were blamimg VA when it was clearly the weather that halted proceedings.

Have to mention the VH rep who kept his calm and stayed focused all the way thru the saga even though he received a torrent of abuse from all angles, have already sent email singing his praises to VA & VH. Well done R...!
