The seat map for our Little Red flight (EDI - LHR) has just opened up along with our connection on to VS1.

I'm surprised to see that the emergency exit and bulkhead seats are blocked. Every other seat in the aircraft is available. I though as booked on a Z fare we would be able to select these?

I'm 6'4 and even though its a short flight the extra leg room would be much appreciated. What's the best way to go about grabbing them?

Thanks in advance!

I bagged 1D at T-24 as soon as online checkin opened for my flight yesterday. I was SEQ1 :D You probably just need to be sat at your PC at the right time.

I believe they only become available when OLCI opens at T-24 hours, not when seat requests become available at T-90 days.

Your FC status or class of travel on your connecting flight are irrelevant AFAIK - anyone can bag those seats.

I've flown with Little Red 3 times now, once connecting and twice on its on and not once have I had any of my pre selected seats.

Don't know if that's just an EDI - LHR thing ? There's one member who has used them many more times ( maybe horburyflyer ? ) so maybe he can confirm if its even worth trying to pre select your seats.

There's also one aircraft in particular that seems to be really tight for space, but on the upside, the flights are generally under an hour with the drive round Heathrow. ;)

Enjoy

David.

Is all of row 1 blocked till T-24? 1C was taken when I checked in and bagged seq1.

If you have any carry on though, you need to board early if you're in row 1. The overhead bins are full of crew bags, so you need to go back a row or two, which may already be full by the time you get on.

I have always pre selected my seats and have secured them on the MAN-LHR-MAN route which I fly but I usually sit lower down the cabin...I have noticed that nearly on all the flights, the first four rows have been blocked, even at the OLCI stage along with the emergency exit rows which are to be expected. What's make it interesting though is that when everyone has boarded, the crew do pop along asking people to move to sit in the emergency exit rows.......just don't understand why Servisair don't allocate at check in!

I would just ask at check in and I am sure all will be fine. Typically on the Manchester route though the highest load I have seen has been in be high 80s.

Enjoy, let us know how you get along.

Just logged back in to the booking to find that it has forgotten my seats, although my selection has been greyed out as if they are taken. Could explain why people are not getting their requested seat!

Will just wait until T-24 or if all else fails ask very nicely once on board. If loads are always relatively light shouldn't see it being much of a problem.

On a slight aside, is there any advantage in being off a Little Red flight first if using the bus to connect long haul? Normally being off first avoids waiting in a queue at security/immigration but it's my understanding you don't have to go through either of these.

It's not forgotten you seat number, it just wont let you change it any more online.

This bug has been in VLR seat maps since it launched. Another VS IT fail.

That happened to me on the MAN-LHR inaugural but not since thankfully.....I have always selected 19F and have kept it......the crew even laugh now as they know exactly which seat I will be sat in without them looking at the BP ):

In terms of leaving the aircraft to catch the transfer bus to T3 it really won't make any difference if you are at the front or not.....indeed the bus will take you straight to T3 departures if you are flying VS, works really well.

We are flying EDI to LHR on Little Red and had the same issue with the seat allocation, when we rang to check we were told it was a known issue. We were then told that the first entry you make is the one that sticks.... they are working on a fix apparently. It did the same for our UC flight to Vancouver.
