Just burned some miles and booked a trip to Orlando next May. Got lucky on the outbound flight from MAN - 2 G's available, so they will do nicely. Could only get P's on the return, so will be looking daily for G's to appear.

It only dawned on me when I'd booked that I have put both pax on the same booking. I am guessing that the G fares for the return - if they appear - will not do so at the same time.

So the question is can you [or rather Flying Club] split the booking into two separate ones and upgrade one pax at a time if G's become available for the inbound flight?

Thanks

Hi there,

I have previously booked myself and a friend on a revenue PE flight on the same booking, he was unsure about whether or not to upgrade when the price became available, I called the FC and they upgraded me to UC and issued me a new reference leaving my friend with the old reference for his PE ticket (he later decided that £700 rtn was a good price and upgraded).

I assume that as they can do it with a revenue fare they can do it with reward fare, you will have two separate bookings so you will need FC to link them so they are aware that you're travelling together.

Thanks for the info. I agree that if they can do it for a revenue fare, then they should be able to do it for a reward one - especially as I think they charge £25 for the privilege of amending a reward booking.

I just had that niggling thought in the back of my mind about VS's ever efficient IT system and wondered if this would be too much for it!

I seem to remember that the IT system held it's own on that occasion and I was able to view both bookings and select seats when I needed to.

However I have made an adjustment (S-G) to one of my trips this morning and now all of my bookings have vanished from my "Your Future Flights" page.
So maybe not.

Yep, any booking can be split up if you want to just upgrade one of the two passengers, this wouldn't be a problem.

Hull: Your booking won't appear in 'Future Flights' until the ticket has been re-issued which can take a day or two.

Thanks SRH

I'm aware that the new booking might not appear for a few days, and that I am now unable to view my revised booking as it now contains five sectors which is too many for "manage my booking" to handle.

However I had two other bookings for SFO in August and February that have now disappeared.
I am able to locate them with my reference number but they no longer show in my "your future flights" link.

Many thanks

Check that your FC number is noted in the booking - sometimes that disappears (esp. for a redemption) and so when logging in the flights are not automatically listed.

I have looked at that, and even re entered my fc number but they still fail to show up.

Probably worth checking with FC, but I seem to remember that there is a bug that means that sometimes reward bookings show up, and sometimes they don't. I could never work out the logic of it!

Hi

I spoke to FC last night about this and was advised that all three of my booking are in the system.

I can't understand why upgrading one leg of a trip should cause two unrelated cash fares to disappear ,but the FC agent thinks that when the upgraded one has ben re ticketed everything should re appear.
