Just seen this :)

I wonder what will happen if you are already eligible for CH access ?|

I'm about to start a mini rant, but this is a bit annoying to read especially as we're hearing things about guests in the CH.

VS now wants to invite SEQ3 and their entire party to the CH to celebrate the birth of the 3rd in line to the throne. Complete tosh.

It's called PR.

LMAO.... Really SRH??

Tell me more about this VS PR you speak of :P :P :P

A fair little stunt tbh - a bit cheeky of them to highlight CH access after just cutting FF allowances but fair none the less, I wonder if any of the other airlines will be doing similar.

VS will no doubt be hoping that said birth happens late in the day (or more accurately the official notification) so as to restrict the possible numbers.

But really we are talking about 30ish possible flights leaving LHR and LGW on any given day.

There is a max number of 4 people per winner so 120 people max. And it says 'party' and to me that means people booked together on the same ticket on the same flight not you plus 3 random people.

So VS gets a bit of publicity for not that much outlay.

Folks, lighten up! It's only for one day and depending on the time of the birth, the effect on passengers in various CHs will depend. If the news is broken at 11pm in the UK the only ones who will be able to benefit are those in the US with evening flights. Indeed the news might be too late for some to avail of that perk.

OK, yes, it is a bit insensitive to announce this at a time that VS is trying to convince us that the guest rules were always in place when we all know to the contrary, but FFS's sake we're celebrating the birth of a baby to a thoroughly nice couple who, long after I have shuffled off this mortal coil, will one day be king or queen. So, enjoy and don't begrudge the lucky SEQ3s who may have their one and only chance of a CH.

And remember that VS are hoping that they will be so blown away by the experience that they will book UC forever more. The likelihood is that it will be V-Flyers chasing the elusive SEQ1 and they may well be in UC anyway!

Ahh HL sage thoughts as always, although I take issue with this statement.... you mean that the world will, one day, be without an HL?? Never :P

Alas, joey, it will be so. Much as I am immortalised in these pages, I am alas, mortal and one day, hopefully in the very distant future, the Grim Reaper will come for me :( :#

I think the only problem here is the timing.
Good for VS on what could turn out to be a hollow promotion, for the reason stated above :P

I think it's quite funny that the slight change of a rule to allow guests into the clubhouse of a Flying Club member can cause so much grief.. The has been no cut as such, just a restriction which makes it more likely that you actually know the person you're guesting.. Seems perfectly fair in my book.

That made me laugh, because I just made this point in the thread about CH guests...
