Hello
I'm looking to book 2 adults and 2 children in Prem Eco to Miami during the next Easter holidays. But online it tells me that it will be over £9000 !
Is this usual ? I thought it might be because it's the school holidays but even so - it would be cheaper to fly to Sydney at the same time !
Will this price come down at all or is it just a case of checking regularly and seeing what happens?
Many thanks in advance

It really depends on your exact dates, although that does sound very expensive. All I can think is that it is booking you in to the W fare code both ways, if you let us have your dates I can have a look and see.

Easter is a very popular period for Florida, and more and more people are going via MIA instead of direct to MCO. The Sat to Sat of the 2 week Easter holidays are especially pricey if you don't book straight away when the flights are released.

What exact dates are you flying?

How old are the children (if over 12 then considered adults)

Did you select the 'cheapest' or 'flexible' option?

I did a dummy booking for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 2-11) for 16th / 23rd April and only got £9k by selecting the 'flexible' option. 'Cheapest' was just under £4k

Fare buckets were H (cheap) and W (flexible)

Thanks for your replies
Dates are 5th - 19th April (school Easter holidays) but we are flexible within those dates, e.g. 6th - 18th. My kids are 7 and 10.
I tried two different ways - first just on the general booking page (£9300 and something!) and then thought I might chance an upgrade to UC on the way out with miles, so tried the same info on the flying club upgrades page (I think it was an S ticket). The problem with that was we would have to go via JFK and have a stopover for a few hours. This was just under £5000 but i really want a direct flight!
Any thoughts???

same for return on 19th

And on the 6th and 18th there are no H fares left (the cheapest) and only 1 / 3 S fares so for the 4 of you it'll be offering you W fares, the most expensive.

So I'm afraid the cheap fares for the dates you want to go have sold out.

For those dates you'll either need to look at connecting flights or try another airline. Or try different dates - there are loads of S fares still available for the 7th out & 17th back, for instance. They're still not the cheapest but are cheaper than W and are upgradable with miles so if you strike lucky and find Gs you can get into UC.
