Have been looking at the new Miles Booster section of the VS website. Having taken 2 flights to NYC in March and July these both in the 6 month window for claiming miles.

If I boost and double miles = 13,832 + 1000 bonus @ £138.32 x2
= 29,664 miles @ £276.64

I've never bought miles before - it's always seemed pretty expensive as I earn plenty with my black Amex card but this seems pretty good.

Currently on the VS website 30,000 miles would cost me £465! :0

Anyone else think this good value?

Depends what you want to spend them on.

For example, those 30,000 odd miles would nearly buy you a return reward trip to New York in economy. But you'd have to add about another £350 in taxes and charges, so in total you'd be paying about £675. But you can buy a cash economy fare to New York for less than £550 - so in that instance it's not worth it.

However if you plan to use the miles to upgrade from economy or PE to UC, that's a different story as UC upgrades are generally perceived to be the most lucrative way of spending miles.
