IMHO there's no such thing as a "best seat" on the A330, just least worst!

The Upper Class suite isn't ideal for couples due to the high dividers between seats but if I were you I'd go for 2 adjacent A or K window seats in the middle of the cabin.

And pray that VS do a late switch to a 747.

My personal preference on the 330 configuration is 8&9A

They are the seats at the rear of the cabin, so are next to the Bar, but they offer a degree of privacy.

It is fair to say the Cabin is my least favourite n(

Thank you. We haven't flown upper class for about three years. Then it was the purple phase and seats from heathrow and manchester were quite comfortable. I'm assuming the a330 has been upgraded or downgraded depending on your view. Although after spending 5 hours on jet 2 with no premium seating its got to be better than that!

Flew UC on A330 last week. We had 3K and 4K. As has been said the divider means you cannot easily communicate with your partner. I sat on the footstool in wife's seat for some time. I did notice a couple with a K seat and the equivalent seat across the aisle. The chap could sit on his footstool and talk to his wife in her seat (and with her feet up) which looked a better arrangement to me.

I was on one this week and we had 7 and 8a. 9 was empty and I would concur that 8 and 9a would be my choice next time as they are a little more private.

I was also first off the plane, a bonus on any flight.

Thanks I have just booked 8 and 9 a. Seat map just came on line.
I'm now looking for premium seats on the 747 on our return but not yet available.

Buns,

I've opted for 8A for my trip to DXB early next year for that very reason.

I was going to take 9A as I'm travelling alone, however, I believe it doesn't have a window ?| Just wondering if you found it more claustrophobic for that reason.

I only take 9a when I need to get off sharpish.
You are correct and there is not window and it is a nice seat, apart from the bar. Not normally that much of an issue on a night flight......but can be!!.
