I was searching last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for reward availability next June into SFO or LAX and couldn't find anything for 2 people in upper on any dates, even looked at flying to east coast and getting an internal flight but couldn't even get a couple of reward seats into NYC.

Happened to look again on Thursday and availability was wide open into lax and sfo both directions!! Booked a couple of seats up, was I just lucky or can anyone think of a reason why such a large allocation of reward seats were suddenly released.

Could have got rtn G's into and out of: SFO LAX IAD EWR JFK MIA YVR, even saw at least 15 dates rtn to MCO in August (curiously operated on an A340-300 according to website schedule.)

The Majority of it seems to have gone now, but seems that an awful lots of reward seats were released in a big hit

Could be many explanations: a group booking cancels and opens up availability, aircraft changes etc.

That's the mystery of the revenue department keeping us v-flyers hanging on

But we will win in the end as we are very persistent :D :D

After reading your post, went to check availability for October, which we had already reserved and lo and behold there was availability on the earlier flight home from LAX. :D

So after a nice chat with the agent all transferred on to the 8 instead of the 24, much better for getting home and eating on the plane.

So thank you very much Trevski220, regards Linda oo)

We were also looking for west coast US in September and a stack of availability appeared on Wednesday evening. At 6pm there was nothing but at 7.30 a stack had appeared.

Yes the fact that it went from nothing to such a large quantity is what surprised me, usually get a few but not so many dates to so many destinations! Happy days!
