Seat Map

There seems to have been a change on the VS site regarding seat map. Prior to the 30 day seat booking rule coming in to play I booked seats on VS site for outbound flight to Montego Bay in March but have never been able to view these on the VS site, I checked again this morning and was pleased to see that my seat allocations (6A & K) are now viewable on seat map, I am sure I am not alone in wanting to check on pre-assigned seats from time to time. Just waiting for return flight date -30 to come around so that I can hopefully secure preferred seats for home bound journey.

That's because, as of yesterday, the goalposts have moved (again) and T-30 is now T-60.

I assume your outbound flight is on or before March 18th, which is why you can now see (and change) your selection. The return should be available 60 days before.

That is really good to know. As someone with a flight still just over 60 days away.

Many thanks for this information gumshoe, I have just been on VS site & bagged 6 A & K for return flight in 52 days time.

How many times has this changed now? I'm sure, until recently, you could book seats when you bought the flights? And then it changed to 90 days before - and I did a reminder to do mine last week - only to find out it's changed again to 60 days before? And, if I'm right, it changes back soon to being able to book when buying flights? What's occurring?!

Welcome to the wonderful and incomprehensible world of VS IT, which still seems to be based on a ZX Spectrum.

As from April/May/June (depending on route) you'll once again be able to request seats when flights open at T-336. Most economy passengers will have to pay though, and it's the rollout of that new system that appears to be behind the current hiatus.
