Quandry - 2 x PE upgrade vouchers but 3 passengers

Hi all

It's been a while !
2 x PE upgrade vouchers have just appeared in my account and I have enough miles for 2 EC returns to MCO in December and there is currently PE reward availability for our dates . I am assuming that there does not need to be EC reward available.
That's the good news.

Bad news is that we are a family of 3. xx( .

I won't have any miles left after using them for the above, OH only has about 10k miles. (he does have over 100k in BA Avios xx( )
So I am left in a quandry on how to get the 3rd seat and not spend too much more.
Options I can see are :

1 x EC for cash, so me and Jnr in PE and hubby in EC ):
1 x PE for cash
Wait and hope that I will have more miles later in the year to get his ticket, but risk there being no availability.
The only other thing I have his a companion voucher which seems pretty useless in any situation !

Anyone got any other smarter ideas ?

I think you have pretty much covered all your options. The other only option would be to buy some miles for your hubby and upgrade him from ec to PE with miles (it's 12.5k each way).

It is worth checking the price of an upgradeable ticket versus a low price PE ticket. You may find there's not much difference.
Alternatively fly in the bubble two in PE and one Economy.
