Hello,

Your website information on the bucket classes was a good read and explains a lot about the prices.

However on the Virgin website I have found it really hard to locate M class Economy tickets so I can use my miles to get a UC seat

Currently planning our honeymoon and so far I have a 14 night cruise around the Caribbean sorted, now looking at the flights. ATM its not until March 2015 so I know the flights are not listed yet and will not be listed until around mid April this year.

So my questions are:

1). How can I easily identify an M class economy ticket on the website
2). Is it possible to perhaps go UC to Miami and PE back to London with cabin upgrades on Miles?

Kind regards

Lewis

Yes it is possible to upgrade with miles UC one way and PE the other.

To find an M Class fare, log into FC on virgin website then click on spend miles followed by cabin upgrades, the availability search at the bottom of screen will let you select a fare class to check. (Make sure lowest fare is selected rather than spend miles)

Trevski,

Cheers for the info, I am only doing a dummy search atm and can find N fares only.

How much does it usually cost to upgrade from N - M if there was an M fare free?

Also when would Virgin Atlantic usually release a G fare seat before the flight. Bear in mind my rough dates have not yet been released for next year.

Thanks again

As a rough guide for what it's worth, I flew in Feb last year to Orlando.
I bought my economy tickets in May and I upgraded on miles in two stages over a period of about 5 weeks.
the difference in price from cheapest tickets to upgradeable was in the order of £300.
I hope to do the same next year, but this time I won't buy my tickets until there is an upgrade available. Then I'll just do it on the phone and they sell me whichever class I need. I just play dumb and get a lot of help. (Actually I don't play dumb. I am dumb)

Hi Lewis

I can get a price for M class no problem, based on flying this March the M class return to Miami is £789.05 per person.

Are you definitely logged in to the flying club? On the upgrade/companion page the availability search offers a drop down box and let's you choose which fare class you wish to be quoted on.

As for when G's are released I'm afraid that's like asking how long is a piece of string!! In my experience I have had success booking on the very first day the fares are released, I did this in last July booking for my honeymoon this June and managed to get a pair of G's into SFO and out of MIA without any trouble.

If you can't get them straight away then I'm afraid it's just a case of checking all the tine and hoping to come across them when released, their really doesn't seem to be any pattern as to when/if they are released.
