Hi,
Have tried to find a answer but failed.
We have recently completed return flights from MIA but no points have been posted. We manged to get upgraded to G for both flights would this invalidate mileage claim?

G fares apparently don't get posted automatically so a phone call to the Flying club will be needed to get the miles and TP's added .
That said after my last trip a couple of weeks ago on G's they were added automatically ,maybe VS are slowly addressing this issue

Blacky is spot on - for some reason the VS IT system cannot work out miles when you upgraded to a higher class so an agent has to add them manually. It is a quick call to VS to sort, but very frustrating to have to do it.

Of course, you will only earn miles for the fare/class you paid for, not the UC amounts.

I'd give it a week before doing it, unless you need the miles, as there have been some reports of it happening automatically now (and that happened to me too) -- it would be interesting to know if this is actually fixed!

No rush from my perspective so will test 'automation' - incidentally they haven't charged me the miles for the S to G upgrade for the inbound yet!

By way of an update!

Waited 3 weeks - no sign of points. Rang VA and after a long period on hold points for PE tickets were credited.

They confirmed that no automation takes place once you have upgraded using points and that you must ring to rectify.

Thanks for the update - that just about sums VS IT up!

A problem that has existed for years, that everyone is aware of but no one is able (or can be bothered) to put a small patch in place to fix the issue. n( n(

Thanks for the update,the glaring inconsistency shines through again because mine were ( and I was shocked) added automatically on my last flights , this is the first time it has happened on G,s though
