Hi

I will be flying on VS 95 from LHR to YVR in Upper Class in early August and just had a couple of questions about the aircraft I'll be flying on:

1. Do Virgin only operate the A343 on this route or are other A/C also used (such as the A333 that operated the inaugural) and also 744 has been reported to operate on this route but I find this highly unlikely.

2. Obviously due to flying on the A343 the likelihood is I will get the dreaded Odessey system rather than the newer V:Port system for AVOD, so just wondering whether Virgin still offer the Samsung tablets to UC passengers or was this just for a trial ??

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi there it's just the 343 on this route though the 333 has operated it a few times as had the 346. The 744 has never operated to YVR
Only 3 343s left now so you have a 1 in 3 chance of having G-VSUN and Vera on demand. The other 2 343s do still give out Samsung tablets in upper class.
Hope you have a great flight, Vancouver is one if my favourite cities :)

Hi Jamie,

We flew this route last June, the Uc cabin is much smaller than the 346's so we thought nicer, but the IFE unless you get VSUN is awful we didn't get any tablets offered, the selection of films is very limited. So if you have any e-pad load it with films and games, take a book etc.

We did however get the best service we have ever had on an UC flight, the crew were remarkable, as so often is mentioned on here the right crew makes all the difference, we all want to feel a little bit special and we certainly got it on this route. It does make a difference, although we often do the Lax route service is ok but not exceptional.

Vancouver is amazing and we went on to do a Rockies holiday and is still the best one ever in our opinion. LInda y)

We did this route last August/September, 333 over and 343 back.

Swings and roundabouts, the 333 cabin isn't as nice as the others, but the IFE is damned good, gate to gate too, so get your champers and be watching a movie right away, potentially.

The 343 did offer us tablets, but the contents were ancient and pretty much the same films we watched the year ago in September, so they are not kept up to date.

The looped stuff isn't so bad, really. Only time I've had IFE completely fail was the LHR IFE (happned twice so far, and heard of it a few times from others). A few films to watch, when some films end, people often go to the bar until they start again. Plus you can watch the end of the longer running movies which you never fancied, though the whole thing is thrown off by some lasting over an hour longer than the others. I can imagine the Hobbit kind of screws up watching more than a couple of shorter movies on the loop system.

Hi everyone

Thankyou so much for the fast replies !
Hopefully I'll get G-VSUN as mentioned above, but I guess it's fine if I get either of the other two!

Thanks again

On our last 343 flight back from NRT we didn't get GVSUN but they did handout Samsung tablets which was good.
