I am nearly bursting with excitement. I have booked pe seats man to mco then jfk to lhr. I haven't told anyone we are flying in the posh bit :) its my airport suprise y)

the thing is the kids are only 11 (just) and 8, and I am looking at requesting my seats. which ones?

what else do you get in pe that you don't get in ec?

can I ever go back?

the downside is we are on little red back to manchester in ec, so we loose all out pe privilages.

I've only ever seen the seats when boarding and disembarking, its it true angels flutter round the cabin serving golden nectar from the holy grail?

Wow you are excited aren't you!! Good for you!! :)

As you've got kids I'd try for seats in the bubble on the way out. It ain't what it used to be, but for kids the thrill of going upstairs on an aeroplane will be a sight to behold!

Be warned quite a few PE seats, particularly upstairs, may already appear to be taken when you log on, even if it's on the dot of 8am. Some are reserved for Virgin Holidays but if they don't need them they'll be released for general use a few days before the flight. Others are held back until OLCI opens at T-24. So my suggestion would be choose your seats, but check back 2 or 3 days before the flight and again the moment OLCI opens as something better may come up and you can grab them if you want.

What does PE offer over Economy? Dedicated check in, possibly fast track security (there is at LGW, don't know about MAN), priority boarding, welcome glass of bubbly, better food served on china and the obvious benefit of being in a smaller, quieter cabin in a bigger seat with more legroom with more personal service.

Little Red only has one class, so you're not missing out there! And as you're connecting off long haul PE you are entitled to priority boarding for the Little Red flight.

As for angels fluttering, well some VS cabin crew definitely have angelic qualities. Golden nectar and holy grails? You'll just have to wait and see ;)

Stinky

I know exactly where you are - I am taking my Godson and his family out to Orlando in just over 3 weeks and the two boys (9 & 7) are besides themselves :D

For the outbound I have opted for downstairs as getting off is so important when arriving at MCO. For the return I managed to nab seats upstairs as soon as the booking opened.

The extra service in PE will impress I am sure - the service on china and the fact that you can get those "extras" on the way out will certainly put a smile on their faces ):

I promise to do Trip Reports as this will be the first time I fly with little ones (as an aside, the boys' mum has said that the outbound menu will be fine but on the return child earls have been ordered

Difficult choice:
Upstairs for the fun of it or downstairs for a quick exit from the plane. I think I'd go upstairs for the kids. The last twice I've been to MCO immigration has been quite quick.

What else? a pre flight glass of bubbly. Only Prosecco in PE but still nice.

Will you ever be able to go back?
I can't speak for you but we can't. We are now fanatic miles collectors to pay for upgrades.

It is exciting isn't it.

We can request ours on Friday morning. We are flying with my 14yr old son and his mate. Unfortunately my son is now somewhat accustomed to UC but he's excited for his friend. Fortunately it was booked in the sale when PE and UC weren't too different in price.

Don't forget you also have a very generous baggage allowance, which will help with the shopping!

Enjoy your flight and holiday.

When the day came to book my seats a few days ago, I could not do so online.

So I rang the customer services line, and after 40 mins on hold, I got through to "Adrian" (I suspect this was not really his name)

He then proceeded to tell me that because my flight leaves after 25th June, I would need to wait until the 25th to book my seats. I knew this was rubbish, and after a small protest I accepted it and hung up.

10 mins later I rang back, got through within a few mins, and booked 17AC, 18AC and 19AC, no problems.

Turns out that with more than 5 people on the booking, you cannot request seats online, which is why I had to call.

Oh well, got a good bunch of seats :)

I wonder how the IT will cope on 25th June when seating really opens up for those of us booking well ahead.

Thank you all for continuing to fuel my excitement. I think because no one knows it makes it even worse. :)

I also think that I have this idea that when I get to orlando, because I have flown pe, I won't be hot and tierd and in the slightest bit jet lagged. it will be one of those flights that are so enjoyable it will be hard to disembark:) fingers crossed
