Well we've arrived at Sofitel T5 ahead of taking VS900 tomorrow.

Room was booked via Lastminute.com as a secret hotel. Checking in they'd run out of double rooms, so gave us a complimentary upgrade. Ta very much, don't mind if I do ;)

Now having afternoon tea in the lounge. I'll give the obligatory wave from the Clubhouse tomorrow of course.

TTFN :D

Thanks folks.

@Smid I meant the lobby lounge, they call it a tea salon, T5. Afternoon tea was fab. Had to bring some cake back to our room cos we couldn't eat it all lol.

I've not been to the Sofitel's as of yet, but it looks like they have an executive lounge like the hilton (breakfast, afternoon tea, couple of hours of free alcohol in the evenings). Is that the lobby lounge, or do you mean lobby in the sense of the word americans use for reception?

Looking it up, it looks like upgrades, and also access to the executive lounge is in the Sofitel for platinum accor hotels loyalty card members, so perhaps will try Sofitel next time in Gatwick. Can anyone comment on the executive lounge, say compared to a Hilton one?

I've booked the Hilton this time, and executive room since lost status with Hilton and had to pay for that. The platinum amex gets you club accor platinum card, for people who don't know. Used to get you a years Hilton too... But that's done.

Thanks hiljil, and all, I won't forget TRs. I'll most probably start writing during the flight, especially if I can't get any decent sleep!

Now, we're having fun at the Sofitel... After having a delightful afternoon tea we've done nothing but crash out in front of the TV. Had a call from reception around 6ish asking when I'd be checking out. Checking out? :? "In the morning around 8" says I, "oh" said reception, "we have you down as a day room so I'll just extend your stay". I emphasised having booked a room overnight and she said it would sorted.

Well a good 3 hours have passed, we've had room service, and lo, not 10 minutes ago housekeeping show up, 3 of them! to clean the room. After sending them away I've had to call down and check again. Was told it was their mistake and they'll contact housekeeping, but I'm thinking they should have been updated 3 hours ago.

I mean, I could have been 'in flagrante' (I apologise for any traumatic mental pictures I just triggered there). ): :0 :0 ):

Anyway, this is a lot of trouble from a complimentary upgrade, that's all I can say. They better not have charged me extra for deciding to stay overnight!

I've been waiting for your trip to start...I'm very excited to hear your TR's.

Sofitel is great we got upgraded on our last stay, the lobby bar is a tad on the expensive side tho...but who cares you're on holiday! y)

We're not really barflies though, much prefer slobbing in our room or a nice restaurant dinner. Room it is this time, the afternoon tea was fab and filling. Hotel is lovely, really pleased apart from the little hiccup. Still, it could only happen to me lol.

Don't worry, I won't forget TRs, and somehow, it feels like you're all coming on holiday with me. My excitement has subsided for now, I'm starting to chill out and let go of stresses, but roll on tomorrow morning... y)

Anyhoo, back to Person of Interest...
