Black AMEX - bonus miles on additional card holder?!

Hi all,

Just signed my OH up for an additional card on my VS Black Amex. The cards have arrived, and the blurb on the back of the card states the same 18500 bonus miles that I received when I started my card (mine was 25k I believe - with the rest coming after a 2k spend?). Question is, does that mean that she if activates and makes a first purchase, do we get another 18.5k miles?! There was no where that I could see it stated that this was not the case?!

I would be surprised if you would if they are just an additional card holder on your account - doesn't harm to try I guess.

Isn't the credit limit shared over the two cards (or 4 in this case)? Unless your partner had a account of her own with her own credit limit she probably wouldn't get bonus miles on her spend as it's all one account.
So what she puts on the cards contributes to your miles and other benefits.

It was more that the card would be available for any large household purchases to come out of my account as she doesn't have a FC account.

Seems strange that they would include all the copy stating the bonus miles when activating a new card if that wasn't the case with secondary card holders!
