Last time in there was a couple of years back, so assuming it's not changed, it's ok - reasonable size, enough comfy sofas, airy (high ceiling, plenty of windows), some cold and hot food (eggs, beef bacon, chicken sausage, usual halal variant on the full English), plus a couple of cereals. Beer and wine, think there might have been some fizz. Also a seperate smoking room. Oh, and close to the gate the VS401 goes from.

Plus the major bonus (for me) of welcoming my kids in as extra guests on my AU card (wasn't flying UC). That always gets a big thumbs up from me...

Oh, and still jealous of you getting those Gs on the 24th :-)

Nothing really to write home about n(

High ceilings and hard floors means it is just an extension of the Terminal

Hi Sam,

Yes, it's not the most comfortable, but does have a good selection of breakfast items (hot and cold) inc beers and spirits. Bearing in mind you'll prob be there about 9.15am at the latest, possibly a large G&T might not be first on your list!?!?!

oh, and the toaster takes ages. ;-)

No alcohol in ramadan. Think 1980s Eastern block as a theme.

It bemuses me why Dubai which has glitz everywhere has an airport like this.

Spot on; it's like being in some kind of alternative reality.

Don't rush to get there.

Blimey, has it changed in the past couple of years? I've been in some pretty grotty lounges (the CX one at Manila sticks in my mind) and whilst DXB is no clubhouse, I really didn't think it was that bad for an hour or so...

And I do now remember being able to make bucks fizzes in there before - best thing to do at breakfast time with decent orange juice and imitation champagne...

I was in the Dubai lounge at the end of March. I have been through here a few times in the last couple of years, it's a quiet spot in a busy terminal.

The food/drink offering is rather basic (didn't see any sparkling wine.....!) but a reasonable bar, soft drinks, water, a coffee machine and some basic food - though I am told the chicken curry is good!

I have only travelled on the VS401 so have usually left by 930am, though we did experience a two hour delay at the end of March and the lounge was boring after a while. The staff are friendly and a small spa offering limited treatments for a fee. It did have local newspapers which were fine but not a lot else.....

It's ok for a drink and a quick bite :D
