Welcome to the forum. It is a great source of information and entertainment. And as you have noted, very friendly, which is rather unusual in the internet forum world
I have flown the NZ1 route. This was in Economy as I was a young backpacker at the time on a world tour. The flight was a disaster!
I developed severe abdominal pains between Honolulu and LAX. The cabin crew wanted to off-load me at LAX and send me to hospital, I was so ill

Ofcourse I was not having that as I had no health insurance (I was an impoverished student). A hospital trip in the USA would have bankrupt me for life!
The situation was saved by a lovely lady in the airport kiosk at LAX who treated me with Alks Seltzer and some other pills and thankfully I made a prompt recovery in the transit zone. They allowed me to fly on to LGW (NZ1 landed there in 1989!). Turned out it was my gallbladder...but I shall not bore you with all the details.
I also remember that after touchdown in London one passenger, despite the repeated announcements, took off his seatbelt, removed his bag from the overhead locker and started making his way to the exit, whilst we were still taxiing off the runway

One of the cabin crew marched straight up the aisle and frogmarched him all the way back to his seat, verbally demonstrating as she did. Fantastic! I love assertive cabin crew at times like this
Just for interest, NZ1 has just left California as I type this, on its way to AKL. You can follow it on
