Happy Sunday to you all y)

Just thought I'd post that I have managed to grab 2xG inbound and outbound to LAX next July ^)
This has all come about as Mrs P and I had to change our NRT flights in October due to a family member having a terminal illness. Taking stock of our lives we decided that we should go somewhere on our bucket list...so it was Alaska or Hawaii. Well Hawaii won, so 10 days ago I called up FC and asked to make the change from NRT to LAX to connect with Hawaiin Airlines. The Call a Agent, Cali (checked and happy to be named) was beyond superb checking everything and pulling out all the stops. Unfortunately there was no UC availability so PE it was on the VS7 y)
As a committed V-Flyer I was checking availability daily and nothing...until this morning where 2 seats showed for the return journey. In a state of slight hangover I called FC helpline again and was told that the seats were not showing on his screen and after investigation he found that they had put on the VS23 again :? I thought "isn't that the one Delta was taking" but no, seats available and bookable......so I did y) ^) Although there was another change fee (& 25000 miles) it was still a blooming cheap UC return to LAX and a great start and end to our Hawaiian adventure ^)

I'm still a little concerned that this is an error and that the flight will be cancelled but I know the V-Flyer motto...if it's there grab it quickly y) 8D

Well done!

Yes the second daily LAX flight is indeed returning next year, it was announced as part of the recent changes that will also see an extra daily JFK and seasonal SFO, ATL & MIA but the loss of NRT, YVR, CPT & BOM.

Appreciate the supportive comments, you guys are awesome. Tough times ahead.......

HL I will definitely send questions your way! We are staying in Captain Cook on the Big Island for a week in a rented private home overlooking the ocean (looks amazing), then going onto Honolulu for 4 days with a view of getting around the Island a little. Have researched this and been told don't try and do anymore than 2 Islands in 2 weeks otherwise you are dashing about.....and that's not Hawaii 8D

I think you mean DL, not HL! Not that I have not been to the Big Island, I have. I stayed in Kona on the dry side of the island. It was over ten years ago and I would love to go back. The Volcanoes Park is well worth a visit and if you're on the dry side, do go over to the wet side to see the difference (and vice versa)

Lol :) . Petmadness, the ( flying) distance between the islands isn't massive so if you want to do more than 2 islands in a fortnight do it! Given it's four hours from LA make the most of the time you have there :) .
Where are you looking to stay on Oahu?

:# :# :# The shame :# :# :#

Looking at staying close to Waikiki and then grabbing a car to get around the island. Have books & internet research to do to ensure we maximise our time on the Islands and soak up the Hawaiian way if life. A balance needed I feel y)
Staying 40 mins from Kona and will definitely visit the Volcanoes and other side of the island. May pootle out to another Island but don't want to make it too busy otherwise we won't have to go back ^)
