Good evening,

Does Newark have a security fast track for Upper Class?

I have managed to get an Upper Class reward flight with miles so I am very excited about flying UC for the first time and just wanted to find out all the perks available! Was very pleased to get them as in the school Easter holidays so thought it might be a struggle.

It also says that the flight is scheduled to be one of the new 787's, so if it is, that will be a bonus too!

If there are any other tips from experienced upper class travellers so we blend in, that would be great too.

Thanks for your help

Wonderful. You'll have a ball. I'm about to post a trip report on a flight back from Newark to LHR which will give details you might find handy. But meanwhile yes EWR does have fast-track security but it's useless as it simply brings you to the same passport guy as the ordinary line does and then to the same scanner!

You'll have access to the CH at Newark which is a new one and is great. I'll give more details in the TR which I must do. And I will, promise!

If it's the 787 then I presume it's the VS2 night flight which DL won't take over, so having flown that many times I can tell you arriving around 5-6 PM security is not an issue as although as mentioned above it only brings you to the front of the line, the security channel only serves a handful of gates as opposed to the entire terminal. I typically never wait any longer than 15 minutes. I have seen the regular line fill up though so being able to cut straight to the "scanner" lines helps a lot in that case. It's nothing like having a dedicated security line at LHR, however.
