I have been a long time viewer but haven't really interacted before, so my apologies.

We are flying out to Miami (3 adults) on 4/12 on Premium Economy reward seats paid for by miles, having done a load check myself there looks to be space in Upper. Having chatted to Virgin online they have said that they have 3 seats that are upgradable into upper. I would have to use my miles as this is the only way you can upgrade a millage reward booking. I have some left but would have the purchase the additional miles at £220.00 + £53.60 in tax. Do you think that this is a reasonable upgrade price to Upper and is it really worth it on VS005? Im tempted but not sure if it is a justifiable price?

Any comments or opinions would be much appreciated! :)

I presume this price is per person, and only you can decide if it is worth it. What is cheap or value to one person is expensive to another. It will get you clubhouse access which would be £60pp if bought. Is this price one way or return.

It is nice in upper especially on a return red eye, you can stretch out and have no interference from anyone in front or behind you. If is was me I would pay that is just my opinion. linda. have a great trip, whatever you decide.

If you are going to do it do it very soon if not sooner! Other people may be after those seats too and they may not be around for long.

But yes I'd upgrade for the cost of the miles plus the £53.60 VS want from you in additional fuel surcharges/fees (not tax)

Welcome to v-flyer :)
I'm with Tonty -I'd say yes if the seats are still there ( personally I'd have just done it :D ).
DTCI, CH at LHR and first off in MIA ( not to be sniffed given the sometimes horrendous queues there ......).
Let us know how you get on :)

Ditto.

Just look at the price of an Upper ticket
Take away the price of PE its about £1300 per person per leg.
It's a bargain.

As others have said, at that price, I would upgrade to UC instantly.

9hr flight with a lot more space & first off the plane to help avoid the dreadful queues at MIA immigration. Add to that the better food / service in UC compared to PE.

Of course, you have to ask "could the money be better spent down-route?" - that is a question that only the OP can answer.
