Hi all

Just trying to firm up some plans for our trip to DXB in May. Flying VS for the first time in nearly 2 years, in PE :)

We want to do all the usual touristy things - Beach, waterparks, malls, creek, souks, burj kalifa, wadi bashing.
Initially we thought we would book into the Atlantis for 10 nights (our 7 year old has his heart set on it).
But I am wondering whether we should spend the first few days in a hotel on the mainland so that the above tourist sites and activities are more accessible ?
Can anyone recommend a good hotel for this ? Is the creek a good location ? Or Jumeirah beach ?
Somewhere fairly child friendly with a nice pool etc

We have stayed in the JBH before and I also like the look of the Mina A'Salaam, but these are a little out of our price range as we will be spending ££££ on the Atlantis.

Advice much appreciated :)

Thanks

Dar al Masyaf, ask for villa 4. Sinbad club is right next door. Al Qasr is part of the same campus and should be equally suitable.

ETA, so shop around, there are good deals to be had on Al Qasr

Sorry way above our budget :-o
Looking for something under £200 a night, as most of our budget will go on a room at Atlantis to include breakfast.

Thanks anyway

I've stayed in the arabian courtyard a few times. Handy for the Creek and old dubai And of course the museum is directly opposite. It's not the most glamorous of places but the staff are really friendly and it dones a decent buffet breakfast, has decent restaurants and also a pub, though the latter gets very very smoky in the evening, so if you want a pint, grab one at lunchtime or have one with your meal at the Italian or indian.

The Hilton Dubai Creek in May is quite reasonable. Expedia are offering it at £144 per night and if you book via Quidco you can get a further 10% off (10% rate expires in 5 days) plus Nectar points. We have stayed there a few times, rooftop pool, Gordon Ramsay restaurant plus house restaurant, both good. Close to malls etc.

Thanks
