Welcome to Upper Pack

I have planned a special upper flight for my niece and nephew to fly with us and was thinking about how to surprise them. I thought I would try customer service and ask do they offer packs of a kind.

The answer was "Whilst we'd love to be able to help with the surprise, due to the high number of enquiries we receive of this nature, we must operate within standard policies and decline such requests. "

Maybe as a company who want to be different may want to think of something like this even a little welcome to upper card etc to hold tickets ,baggy tags

Since I cannot get any joy from VS how have any VF members surprised anyone flying in Upper?

I can't think of any airline that offers such a pack - even those with a First Class product. It would cost the airlines millions to send them out, so would invariably push up fares. And hardly anyone flies on paper tickets these days - it's all e-tickets sent via email.

Perhaps you could make your own? Easy enough to knock up a nice cover with pictures of your destination and a plane. Then you can print out your e-ticket and itinerary. There are often some nice VS souvenirs to be found for a bargain on eBay, and it may be another V-Flyer could send you some UC luggage tags.

That's how I did it when we first flew UC...bit by bit.

If going from LHR tell them DTCi is something the taxi company has a special arrangement for..

Make sure they don't see the boarding passes...

Tell them the CH is due to your status....

Maybe I'm alone in this.

As a surprise gift I would love the anticipation of the trip, researching and having the excitement - trawling VFlyer for TR's etc.

If I give such a gift - and I have - this was definitively the best received version I gave (as opposed the surprise). The reason was purely the anticipation.

I did something similar for our son when we first flew Upper, he is only 7 but loves the build up to holidays and is always asking questions about what we will do every day etc etc
So I made him up an A4 clear front folder with lots of photos and a day by day itinerary. The photos were taken from various VS websites - eg. the DTCI, clubhouse, UC cabin etc
He loved it and still looks at it now.
Not quite what you had in mind I'm sure but I really enjoyed putting it together for him.
Will shortly start his folder for our DXB trip. He has no idea we are going (have told him we are off to Alton Towers hotel for a few nights) so will present this to him the night before and look forward to his reaction

I surprised my girlfriend a couple of years ago. She knew we were going on holiday but didn't know where. The destination was Barbados and it was made all the more intriguing for her that we had to fly from Manchester to Heathrow the day before and then get the national express to Gatwick.

I checked us both in at Twighlight check in with her standing far back enough that she wouldn't find out where we were going or that we were flying UC.

Then we stayed overnight at the Gatwick Hilton. Next morning we made our way to the Clubhouse and I finally told her the destination and the fact that we were flying UC when we were in the clubhouse with a glass of Chanpagne!

You don't necessarily need a pack to surprise them with - you could surprise them by leading them to the Clubhouse.

The 7 and 9 year olds I surprised were more interested in the footballers we saw in the Clubhouse until they were on the flight and said to their dad during the flight " we are not frightened of flying anymore dad" whereupon dad has never forgiven me for introducing them to Upper

5 star luxury, multiple pools, dolphins, water parks, wadi bashinge etc etc
