Anyone Flown Transatlantic on a 757

Hi managed to grab some great flights on a code share Delta flight on the VA website from Man to JFK direct in May for around £400. When I've looked though the planes they are using on this route are 757s. In the past always been across on an A330, 747 or 777 so just a bit concerned what kind of crossing we are in for. Will it be a bumpier ride than the wide bodied jets with the 757 being a 3-3 configuration and will it be more claustrophobic?
Any views or experiences would be really appreciated.

I've done Man to Jfk on a 757. Was okay - a smooth flight but of course depends on the weather.

I used to fly MAN to IAD on United 757s, can't say it was much different to any other aircraft from a comfort perspective. Saying that I don't think we ever hit bad turbulence.

Should be ok from northern airports like Manchester and Glasgow but when they run 757s from mainland Europe and the jet stream is blowing they quite often have to stop at Halifax for a splash and dash fuel stop.

I have never flown "across the pond" on a 757 but have flown long haul EWR-LIM in Business First with Continental back in 2011 on a 757 and it was a great flight, other than that my only 757 experiences have been with Charter Airlines to and from Europe on a few Snowboard trips.

I think they are a great Aeroplane.

A 757, whilst smaller than a 747/777 will not really be noticably more effected by turbulence. If you get a bumpy flight, well it would have been bumpy on a bigger plane as well.

It's a smaller environment for sure, but I'd say not so much that it would effect comfort.

And, as others have said, it's a great airplane, I've flown on so many over the years.

The only thing that might be noticable, is that you've got less isle to walk in, so stretching your legs may be more of an issue (if you're prone to isle prowling that is!).

Given the deal you got, it's superb value whatever way you look at it...

Brilliant thank you very much all and for the reassurance. We have upgraded to Economy Comfort for the extra space so should be OK. I will post a trip report of my experience when we get back will certainly be different from my UC experience on VA to MCO last October!
Confirmation not showing any miles but presume I will be awarded these regardless after the flight.

It is more about the comfort of the seat you end up in than the aircraft. Stick me in business class on a 757 any day over economy on an A380.

Flown the 757 over the pond many times and subject to the above it is a nice ride.
