looking to come back from orlando on a dayflight as my wife refuses to fly overnight. i accept that ill need to connect and hotel it, but she'd rather do that and fly Y, than do a red eye in UC!

Is the jfk to lhr 0815 flight the only one? the virgin website is far from easy to search!

Unfortunately I think you might be out of luck, there might be other operators but the only Eastbound Virgin day flight is the VS26 out of JFK, but there are no flights out of MCO that will get you there in time to connect, unless you grab a hotel for the night before as you say.

The only option I've found for a same-day trip (via Google Flights) is a US Airways route MCO-PHL-LHR that leaves at 06:10 and arrives at 22:10. But then that'll depend on which date you're flying.

There used to be one from EWR but that ended earlier this year (the slot handed to DL who then changed it to a night flight. That would have appeared if you'd searched for 'NYC' rather than ' JFK'

BA does a day flight from JFK and Boston but that's about it.

I think American Airlines also do daytime flights. I seem to remember a friend of mine taking this flight at some stage.

poggsuk wrote:thanks. as it'll be a reward flight, jfk it is and the extra £500 on jet blue flights for the 4 of us!

Friends of mine insist on doing the same thing. They fly from Tampa into JFK, then overnight in hotel close to the airport, followed by daytime flight back to LHR. It is very tiring though because you have to get up so early and check in at JFK for the 8.15am flight home.

Hope your £500 includes the new checked baggage fee charges which Jet Blue have actually introduced on all their flights booked after June 30th 2015

I always do the same altho I realise to some it might be silly. I always fly UC so comfort is allright but really really hate night flights which always makes me feel sick and sleepless for the week after. I am that one person that just stays up all night and doesn't use the bed :D I just finished 3months of Dallas stay and just fly to NYC the day before with virgin America and stay at the marriot at JFK and then take the early morning flight at 815. It's early yes but 'jetlag' is SO much better to handle (for me) when taking that flight plus it's a dayflight and times literally goes so fast on this specific flight.
