Is there an interline agreement between Virgin and Delta when on separate tickets?

What I'm thinking is LHR > ATL > MCO on separate reward tickets (or cash on the delta legs). I've checked with the flying club and its not possible to combine these flights on one ticket if a reward is included on any leg.

So. :-)

If I get a reward LHR > ATL (or LHR > JFK/MIA) and a separate ATL > MCO ticket, will VS ticket the bags through to MCO?

Ideally what I would then do is check in at LHR for the first leg and drop bags through to MCO. Then perform online check in for the delta flight and get boarding passes etc.

At ATL collect bags from carousel and do immigration and customs etc, then simply bag drop at the connecting area and make my way to the gate using the printed boarding pass from online check in done earlier.

(I dont want to lump my bags back to delta check in at ATL)

Possible?

(I know there are LGW to MCO flights, but U/c seats are difficult and I want to try all the goodies at LHR as I've never flown from there before. Always LGW)

Yup, did that just a few weeks ago.

VS ticket was on miles, Delta ticket booked via their website.

Used DTCI and asked for bags to be ticketed through to MCO.

Both boarding passes issued and bags were ticketed through - you do need to pick them up in ATL and then put them onto transfer belt - very, very easy.

Have a search for my TR or have a look here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=290968 for a step by step version
