Hi

I recently booked a trip to Hong Kong with Virgin during their recent sale, however I have since changed my mind and now want to book New York for December NYE instead.

I paid about £480 for HK, I know that I would need to pay a change fee of £150 plus the price difference. New York right now is coming up at £645 for the 29th Dec-5th Jan, is this price likely to go up over time or could it go up and down. I do not recall the dates for the sale prices was advertised for NY, so not even sure if a sale would apply to the dates that I want.

I did go to NY for christmas but after uprading, buying miles, changing dates, I have no clue what my initial economy price was.

Any ideas please?
Thanks
Kelly

Hi Kelly, it's really difficult to answer your question to be honest. The prices for NYC could go up or down dependent on fare buckets available and what revenue decides in order to obtain the best returns.

The best advice I can give is if you see a price you're happy with, and are happy to pay the change fee, then go for it and then don't look back.

Thanks. Yes, I appreciate that it is a difficult question, after all if we knew when sales occur and when prices are at their lowest then we would all be winners. I will try and hold out another couple of months as I still will want to pay to upgrade to a flexible ticket which will mean more costs.

Thank you for replying.
