Hi

I don't know whether anyone's noticed, but you can't book Air China flights with Virgin Miles at the moment. It's a pity - had a great First Class experience (0nly 75,000 miles return) last month, and we were looking to go back

The website says no bookings until 'further notice' - wonder whether any V-Flyers out there know what's happening?

It happened before at the tail end of last year. Redemptions halted at the end of Sep and started again mid Nov, there was no explanation given for the hiatus.

Perhaps this will be a similar glitch and it'll return in due course?

Did you do a trip report. At that price, I'll be interested in trying out the AC experience....

Hi,

how do you go about seeing how many miles are needed for certain flights and also how to you book them?

Hi

Yes, I'd happily take private messages to answer anything about Air China

No, I didn't put in a trip report - but in Summary the Air China first class experience was fine - MUCH more room than Virgin Upper (which I realise is a business product)

And remember redemptions can ONLY be used LHR-PEK, no other routes. It was 63K miles return in business, 75K in First

Were the taxes similar to Virgin. What were the lounges like (to me VS's lounge is the big thing I miss, even as a gold card BA holder).

HI

To make redemption (points) bookings on Air China, using Virgin Miles, it's necessary to phone Virgin (unless I'm missing something)

Departing from Heathrow, it's the Star Terminal that they use (Terminal 2). They 'recommend' you use the United Global (ie First class) lounge if you're flying first, but we used the Singapore First lounge. Because of the timing of the Singapore flights, we were the ONLY people in the first lounge, so had rather good service!

Coming back from Beijing, the lounges there are all a bit flaky, but the aeroplane's nice!

Hope this helps
