Second flight into Vegas ?

Was sitting bored at work today so thought I'd do a dummy booking for a reward flight to Vegas next May/June time and I noticed they have second flight each Monday and Wednesday. VS951 on outbound 0900L departure from LGW and VS952 inbound from LAS 1415L departure. Dunno if I would take the VS951 as that's less time in the clubhouse.

So my question is when did they start this as I have been thinking for a while they really should have a second flight as they are always full during the summer.

The extra flights are a 'summer' only service operating in April and May only. It was mentioned in the same press release as the one about VS starting flying to Varadero, Cuba:

We’re also increasing the number of services on some of our existing summer 2017 leisure routes to Barbados, Florida and Las Vegas by operating our fleet more efficiently. Enabling us to meet increased demand during peak season and offering customers more choice when they fly..............We’re adding extra services from Glasgow, Manchester and London Gatwick too.

Increasing services from London Gatwick to Las Vegas. We’ll operate nine flights per week in April and May (up from seven). These additional flights will be on Monday and Wednesday.

The VS951/2 also operate on Mondays & Wednesdays throughout September & October until the end of the summer timetable. Presumably utilising the 747 that's needed for the third daily LGW-MCO flight during the school summer holidays.

thats good to know, hopefully that will mean more chance of getting a Reward seat at the front of the plane
