Is the possible Gatwick/Man fleet replacement of A350 aircraft cancelled .
Sir Richard Branson was on Good Morning Britain this morning talking about the EU exit, he said " we were about to do a big deal but we have cancelled" so it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.

Was he specifically talking about Virgin Atlantic? SRB has very little interaction with the airline nowadays, in management terms that is.

Regardless the 747 fleet will need to be replaced in the coming years so if the A350 deal is off the cards, something else will have to take it's place.

No he did not say Virgin Atlantic, this is what he said.

Sir Richard Branson revealed the growing cost of Brexit this morning, as he admitted Virgin Group had cancelled a deal worth 3,000 jobs.

The billionaire businessman said the company had made the decision to pull the plug on "a very big deal" because of the the uncertainty created by last week's vote to quit the EU.

Since then, the company may have lost up to a third of its value, according to founder Sir Richard.

The Virgin Group is much wider than the airline (of which the Group owns 51%).

He could have been referring to any of the companies within the Group such as Virgin Money or Mobile or Trains

If it was the planes he was talking about he would have likely said an amount of money rather than job numbers.

Listing job numbers implies that they were planning on employing staff rather than buying something.

Or could be hotels or cruises, both of which are (or were) meant to be major growth areas for the group.

If it is aircraft I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks as the A350 order will be confirmed at Farnborough if it's happening.
