My husband and I are booked on the 787 to MIA next April in UC.
At the moment only 1G is taken, are there any better seats than others? I realise we will want the A side because of the wall, but any other thoughts, especially thinking of beating the hoards to immigration.

Many thanks.

It is a *very* long walk to immigration at MIA, so just make sure you move quickly - don't stroll! UC will get off before anyone else, so you will start ahead of the rest of the plane, but you have no idea if another plane has just arrived ahead of you.

When we went through in June, they had some of the self service machines to the left hand side of the corridor before you arrived at the immigration hall - make use of them (they had no queue when we used them); the main bank of machines at the hall did have a long queue...

Thanks for the tips. Though last time went to Miami with Virgin, in 2010 or 2011, we were in a new terminal with a very short walk and a totally empty immigration hall. We were the first two in and were through in about 2 minutes!

Hi Gill

We flew in to Miami with Virgin for first time in March, VS must have changed terminals since your last visit as very long walk on arrival to what was on our visit a shambolic immigration hall. Departure terminal is very basic indeed.

Have a great trip.

I find at due to the acoustics on the 787 seats 1-2 are a bit too close to the front. 3/4/5a are my choice in that order. Also get a buggy from the top of the airbridge. That will get you 8/10 of the way. As you are uc you should be off the plane before most so there should be one available.
