Went to the VS site yesterday to sort out my out November/ return December flights to and fro UVF. I was expecting to do a M&M fare but checked Miles only and there was G availability in UC. I have never seen these before on this route for both flights.
And these were on the dates I was going to book so I topped up my miles by purchasing 6k to get to the 100k required and got the deal. So UC return LGW-UVF for a total cash outlay of £540. Not too shabby at all.
Mrs HWV had fewer miles in her account so I had to purchase more but the outlay still meant that I saved over £200 on the cash element of the M&M fare and, of course, significantly on the money only fare.
Feeling a tad smug.
Interestingly, I just looked again and Gs are still available for both flights. I wonder what prompts this sudden appearance of G availability? UC is only about a quarter booked at the moment, maybe it is that?
I am beginning to enjoy spending miles..first my Y to J upgrade from Adelaide on EK in February and now this. Now to work out how to spend my 100k EY miles!
