Guaranteed seat..........

Hi,
Has anyone ever used the guaranteed seat element of Gold?
I am trying to get to NYC on Sunday, and apparently there is zero availability on anything.
The site won't let me book even an econ seat.
Anyone know how to make use of the Au guaranteed seat benefit?

Never tried to use this facilty back in the days when i was AU. Guess you just call the flying club gold number. Not sure that i would want to take the seat of someone who had booked their seat in advance.

I believe you have to ring the contact centre, and it requires 72 hours notice, so you should be all good there. I would expect you would be paying top-whack flexible fares, though.

Ya, I think I would be pi**ed too. Im trying to rejiggle things to Monday morning at the moment, seeing as I have been on hold to FC for about 90 mins now.
