Early arrival and an empty clubhouse should hopefully mean that the clubhouse service was on top form. Was it?
It also wasn't busy when I was in there the other week waiting for the VS42 despite J only having 2 empty seats on the flight. There where maybe 12 other pax in the Clubhouse whilst I was there.
Even those pax all drifted out before the staff even called the flight!

Love the SFO Clubhouse, it's not particularly big, but never had bad service or food there and staff always seem really cheerful.
Clubhouse manager has always been proactive when I've been there coming round chatting to everyone.
Decent views of the runways. Looking forward to being in there at the end of March.
Some have reported that they can be a bit careful as to how much drink they let you have but I've never had that problem, but I don't think i've ever had more than a couple.

I didn't have that problem last year either... the staff were all very happy to chat and bring many cocktails and glasses of wine... *hic* I didn't feel tipsy at all... It was only when I woke up mid-flight feeling less than ideal that I realised quite how much I had very willingly consumed... oops!
It's a really lovely space. Very light with great views, good facilities and wonderful staff. Hope you enjoy it!
Wasn't there talk that it was going to go airside with some alteration of the layout?
I seem to remember that it was close to security although possibly on a different level although it years since I was in it. Will be passing through SFO in July and was considering forgoing the pleasures of the clubhouse and going airside to use the Centurion lounge instead.
