Trying to book UC tickets online & even using several different dates, when we get to the payment option it’s saying fare change & the price is no longer available. This has been happening over a couple of days & when we call VS they say the price has increase (significantly) & that there’s nothing they can do to honour the online price. Is this a common occurrence? According to Expert Flyer, some of the dates we’re looking at don’t even have a single seat sold so don’t believe it’s because the allocation has gone.
Yes I have seen this multiple times, in general I now find booking with VA very hard work as the price changes just from checking a few different options. I book 3 or 4 times a year and find the process time consuming and quite depressing, I just want to book quickly and with no fuss when the dates becomes available. Instead it feels like a gamble just checking the price.
It’s so frustrating, particularly as VS UC Reservations claimed it to be an online glitch which would be rectified within a day or so. Having checked today (over a week after the initial process of trying to book) the prices are still claiming to be the lower price. VS don’t appear to be bothered by his. Really poor service.
Have looked sealink & nothing coming up. We did find some on a website when we checked skyscanner which were the same price as VS were claiming on their website (& incidentally, well over a week after the initial “sorry there’s a glitch on the system so the prices are incorrect”, the prices are still the incorrect cheaper price
), but the reviews of the company looked a bit dodgy so we didn’t bother. So this time, we’ve gone over to the dark side & booked with BA whose prices online didn’t increase on attempting to book. Don’t suppose VS will give a hoot about this but it saddens me that after only travelling VS for nearly 20 years, they’re customer service now seems non existent.
