Hey

I may have to travel to Shanghai in the next few weeks on business.

What’s the best route from London? Who’s the best carrier...I ask because I’ll be flying business class so I want to make it a memory.

Thanks

Shane

Best route is obviously direct.

As to carriers there are several. I'd try google flights for some options.

'Best' is subjective as it's so personal.

I travel regularly to PVG and have done for the last ten years, in fact just returned last Monday from a ten day trip [it was -1 in Shanghai and snowing, however I was in Tianjin for a few days and it was -14!]

VS currently have great deals in the sale if your flexible - best I've seen for a long time [sub £2000 in UC]

I would always recommend VS, timings are right for business [land 08.30] straight to visit factories or over to the Hongqiao hub for internal flights and rail connections.

I try and come back via HKG for the timings again, depart Midnight and land around 05.00

Thanks all

Love the VS option...that is my preference

UC is currently coming in at over £5k return based on Tuesday out, Friday back in March.

Are there any days which are cheaper?

You would need to include a Saturday night away to get a cheaper fare. Flying out on a Tuesday and back Friday means you’re probably being priced into one of the most flexible - and expensive - UC buckets. Try seeing how much it would be to come back on the Sunday - possibly quite a bit less. Or it may be that the flights are just very busy and the cheapest tickets have sold out.
