Hi all,

I've set up a G Reward alert on Expert flyer for my LHR-JFK flight in May. I've used the seat map alert before but never the reward one. Has anyone used this successfully? Or is it easier to keep doing dummy bookings on the VS site?

Thanks!

I use expert flyer, pretty much day in and day out. I find it highly accurate for reward availability as well as seat assignments.

In fact, I put expert flyer down as the core reason for most of my upgrades/Op-Ups. Knowing how full flights are often influences my purchasing. It's probably the best $10 I spend per month.

That being said, with LHR > JFK having so many seats available I find theres almost always a G to be had on most days if you can be flexible on which flight you take. Also remember to check EWR too. Flying into EWR is fine, but outbound its appalling.

The day I'm flying out currently only has VS25 at the moment which is a little late. I'm hoping VS137 comes up as that's a better time (and what I'm booked on). There's good availability in UC on expert flyer at the moment (J9 C9 D9 I9 Z9) so I'm hoping one will pop up soon.

I use EF, but only have a basic subscription. I recently used a trial/free premium month, specifically to try out the reward seat availability alert and it worked great. I'm not sure how often they run the searches behind the alerts, but it was more on the ball than my manual checks that I was doing in parallel multiple times a day. Definitely has me considering upgrading my subcription.
