Does anyone have any intel on when the next Miles Booster promo might be along?

Do they usually happen at certain times of the year?

What is the deadline for buying Miles Booster after your flight?

Thanks!

No idea when there will be another promo sorry, but you can apply a miles booster for a flight up to 6 months after the date you travelled.

From this page:

Retroactive purchases may also be made up to the date falling six months after the original date of the first sector of the flight in the itinerary. Retrospective purchases can only be made via the Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited Customer Service Centre.

Following my experience last year I wouldn't leave it until the six months is up to do a retrospective Booster.

It took over three weeks for Points.com to accept my MBNA Amex. Each time I tried the call centre received the message "Sorry your card has been declined" from Points.com, however MBNA were not refusing the card! At one point there were eight pending charges!

It took multiple calls and escalations to IT Support before the card went through. It is a known issue with the MBNA cards - but not widely disseminated across the call centres.

SpaceDog has had the same issue so it takes perseverance to find someone at the call centre who recognises the problem!

I've just received the following email from FC:

Here's a great opportunity to get away sooner with your miles.

With Miles Booster you can buy extra Flying Club miles on the flights you’ve booked and reach your travel goals sooner. It’s quick and easy, and you can choose whether you want single or double helpings of any boosts you make.

For example, when you make a return trip from London to New York, you fly 6,916 miles. With Miles Booster, you can get the same amount of miles again by paying just £69.16. Want to get your hands on double the miles? Simple, for £138.32, you can get an extra 13,832 miles.

But that's not all. Boost before midnight 9 March, and you'll also receive an extra 30% bonus on top of your boost. So be quick, and your miles could be taking you a lot further, a lot sooner.

By racking up your miles, you can get closer to great rewards with Virgin Atlantic and our partners.

Two weeks to get a 30% bonus on any boosted miles. Looks like I'll be boosting my Seattle trip booked for May.

Likewise, no offer here.

There was no mention of the bonus on MMB for our flights, but when I clicked through and it opened the Points.Com window the bonus was headlined at the top of the page. But both hubby & I did receive the email.

When I go onto the Miles Booster page, at the top underneath the 'Miles Booster' page title it says in red letters:

For a limited time, you’ll receive an extra 30% bonus on the amount of miles you boost! Hurry, offer ends 9 March, 2018

The 30% is on top of however many miles you boost by. For my Seattle trip (4,782 base miles each way) it shows as:

Number of miles 19,128
Boost Factor 2x
Bonus miles 5,738
Total miles 24,866

Cost of miles GBP£ 191.28
Total charge GBP£ 191.28

My partner got the email but I didn't. The Miles Booster page accessed from his Manage Your Booking pages shows the +30% promo; mine does not ..... so they are definitely targeting this offer! Very strange. Our flying habits are pretty similar and we are both Gold so no idea why he got selected and I didn't!

It is a targeted offer as having received the email myself here, it's mentioned in the small print:

2. Only Members’ who have received this communication directly from Virgin Atlantic are eligible to receive the bonus. If in doubt please check with your nearest Customer Centre.

I also received an email but my wife didn't. We have identical flight history and almost the same points balance. Quite odd and frustrating.

I wonder if it's based on if you have either never purchased booster miles before (which I haven't) or even if you have started the purchase booster transaction but not finished it (which I have done before)?

I've looked at it several times in the past but never actually done it so far.

Also, the email was sent on an old email address I still have (which is the same one my monthly Flying Club statement emails are still sent to, even though I have a different email address logged in my current Flying Club profile).

I'd registered that old email with VS years ago now.

Any schedule change emails are sent to the email address I currently have in my FC profile as I got one of those last week!

Talking of schedule changes, my Seattle trip times have changed (1.5 hrs earlier outbound and 6 hours earlier inbound!), but I haven't received any email notification. I only noticed when I logged in to do the miles booster. I've only ever used one email address with Flying Club, so it's not gone anywhere else.

Obviously a targeted offer as I received the email and have boosted mine for our trip to Vegas but my wife hasn't. We have both used Miles Booster in the past. Frustrating and divisive.
