Earliest Bag drop time

Good evening all,

I think I’ve made a faux pas....I’ve arranged for my taxi to Heathrow early afternoon to allow for bad traffic on M1 and M25 which means I will be there by half 4 of traffic is ok.

I completely forgot about the 3 hours before flight checkin /bag drop, we are flying on VS 206 at 21:00 so what will be the earliest time we can bag drop for our flight

Don't worry. You'll be fine. You can check-in online 24 hours before departure (and you should to secure seat assignment if you are Red) and you can bag drop as early as 0500 (which is when the check-in desks are manned at LHR). Virgin even encourage you to bag-drop early:

"Counter check in and bag drop

You’ll find our desks in Zone A of Terminal 3. We have plenty of counters available to keep the queues as short as possible. If you have an evening departure, beat the queues and check in when it's quietest between 15:00 and 17:00 - leaving you time to relax."

Enjoy your flight and Hong Kong. Mrs _F and I returned from 3 weeks in China/Macau and Hong Kong only a few weeks ago and we miss it already.

Edit: The 3 hours in your original post refers to outstations where it's possible there might be only 1 Virgin flight per day, in which case the check-in desk would only be manned 3 hours before the scheduled departure. At LHR clearly this isn't the case.

Edit2: If you are returning from HKG make sure you are aware of downtown check-in. It's incredible!

Excellent thank you for your reply, I’ve used Heathrow before when flying to New York but never on such a late flight and just didn’t think about it until my friends said we will get there too early ( they normally fly with other carriers )
