Well I’m not sure how we got so lucky after hearing recent experiences with enrolment on entry for Global Entry but we managed it yesterday.
Our flight, VS15, was delayed by nearly 2 hours so we didn’t land in MCO until 6.40pm, just behind a Lufthansa flight, so I was even contemplating not bothering and just going to pre-booked interview next week. The queue for border control wasn’t the worst I’ve ever seen, but it still took 30-40 minutes. The officer was really nice and friendly, so I explained that we had conditional acceptance and he said, no problem, I’ll call a colleague. After a lot of too-ing and fro-ing, the colleague took us the the GE registration point, right in the middle of the kiosks. He then took a while finding someone who could use the computers. Turned out the only person who was trained was our original officer. Another officer turned up as he wanted to learn to use it as well. There was a lot of trial and error but eventually we heard those words - you’re both approved. Well worth the wait (we were the only people left in the arrivals lounge as was our luggage).
As a few people have said, it’s still relatively new to the people in arrivals (2 people welcoming us in told us there was no such thing as enrolment on arrival, despite a lot of signs advertising it).
Now we are waiting for our acceptance emails..I’ve read some people receive them within an hour of their interview - how long have v-flyers waited for your emails? :D

Nice one, enjoy Global Entry.

All you need to do is check you trusted traveller program online account. As long as that says your are approved, you are good to go and can start entering your known traveller number (which is your Membership Number/PASSID number) in your return VS flight to get TSA-Pre status for flying home and also enter it in your Flying Club Profile for any future VS bookings.

Any other existing bookings you have already booked with VS or DL though will also need updating manually with your known traveller number as well.

Hi Lindsk,

Delighted to hear you managed to get it all sorted and don't have the hassle of returning to OIA during your stay.

Still no sign of our emails but, thanks to James kindly advising we don't need them, I will just check back with the TSA website and, all being well, get our details updated with VA.

I am sure you will be delighted to know that it is still very cold and miserable here in the UK - while you bask in the Florida sunshine!!! Have a great holiday.

Kind regards,

John

Thanks everyone. We ended up calling the CBP as my husband’s account showed no applications and no approval. They said to not expect an email but your account should show approved, which his didn’t - it turns out he was clearly tired on our arrival as he had given his email as gmail rather than googlemail.... hmmm. Anyway all sorted now, our PASSID numbers are now logged in our VA accounts so we’ll see if we get TSA pre-check next Saturday.
Thanks everyone for your advice, it has been so helpful.
