I have my ESTA and have done for several months and due to fly Saturday. Do I need to put my ESTA reference anywhere in my booking?

No, as long as your ESTA status is approved, you are good to go.

Trust me, compared to the "finding out my other half's ESTA had expired the day before the flight" incident a few weeks ago you have nothing to worry about! It's linked to you and your passport number so all good.
