Hi Everyone,

Assuming Virgin do get flying again soon what are peoples thoughts on using the toilets? I admit I am a clean freak, i'm the guy before all of this wiping down everything in my seat before I sit down.

One of the things I have complained about to Virgin directly and to staff onboard are the toilets, I always find them just ok and sometimes dirty. A few years back we boarded and were in UC, the toilets with filthy. I spoke to the cabin service manager who looked at them with me, he wiped the rim of the toilet and was shocked how dirty it was! Anyway he went and got the cleaners back onboard and wrote it up.

I particularly don't like it being a Dad of young girls, with the split front toilet seats I really worry about where their legs are going.

Flying in Emirates business the toilets always seem really clean and kept clean throughout the flight.

My question is how you should VS deal with this, even if they start clean before a long haul flight can it really be acceptable that they are not properly sanitised regularly in flight?

I've not flown Emirates recently, but I noted on Qatar that a cabin crew went in and cleaned near after EVERY use by a J passenger on our flights at Christmas to BKK from ARN via DOH.

This was on 4 seperate flights, on 3 different aircraft types. Is that so hard to do on VS?

It was impressive and we are planning to go again as soon as Thailand open borders for Christams this year. I'd note we wouldn't have considered going again before covid, but we don't really fancy many countries at moment with their infection rates, but the word on ground is Thailand is "good" currently from a friend who lives in Chaing Mai.

Emirates employ onboard cleaners who sit at the back and are alerted when a toilet is used, Etihad used to do the same but they cut those employees last year.

The Qatar system sounds great, Virgin need to address this. The transmission rate in a toilet must be pretty high.
