Wide Boy, I’m not sure it would be very PC though!

I have just one question:
Hypothetically if it was possible, if Virgin want new aircraft would they go with A350-900, 787-10/8, A330-800 or more of the variants they have currently?
Note: this is purely a question where in a magical world VS had the finance like Emirates and Covid goes away tomorrow ( how I wish this was true) :-D

I would say 787-10 would be possible for larger capacity flights (eg if they wanted to add more leisure routes from Manchester), but, the A359s and A338s wouldn’t provide any benefits to them. They’d be best sticking with the variants of those that they already have.

I would assume that the name was in connection to the song “Good Golly Miss Molly” but I can’t see the link to the reg either!

Sorry if I’m being a bit thick. What are the registration to name links for the last 2?

I'm always a little shocked they haven't gone down a Disney route to be honest!

I suspect they can't. Companies like Disney are very very protective of their branding and to use their branding will need to be fully licensed & approved by Disney.

I would think the 744 VS did with Star Wars branding the other year probably required approval from Disney first.

The same probably applies with Marvel as well unfortunately.

They have done names and liveries related to Disney:
G-VBIG was called Tinker Belle, they did the Falcon on G-VLIP, G-VJAM may also be a nod to the Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland (I think this should have been one of the ones in a leisure configuration for mco flights) and they have got G-VNVR on order. I’m sure at least one A339 will also have a Disney related name and if they get permission from Disney, there will be more liveries in the future too.

The Star Wars 747 was a proper paid for promotion between Disney and VS as I understood it. It's that type of thing that I meant with my original post, given VS's position as UK market leader for MCO and Disney sales in general it's the fact they didn't tie up some kind of commercial advertising deal between them.
