After 19 months in storage, G-VNYC will return to the skies tomorrow to fly down to Heathrow from Manchester as VS812P at 3pm. She will return passenger service after a bit of maintenance probably in the first week of November (subject to change).

I see there are four A330's left in storage at MAN. With the planned schedule ramp-up from 8th November (though admittedly still some way off what it would ordinarily be), how many aircraft are required and will this lead to the some/all of the remaining A330's in store returning or will they spend a second autumn/winter parked up with the occasional circle out of MAN?

I think the -200s will be retired. G-VLUV has had quite a bit of maintenance this year so she could potentially be brought back quite quickly (in a couple of weeks). G-VUFO hasn’t had much maintenance so may take longer to return to service but I do think they will both be brought back over the next few months.

They will send one up from Heathrow to operate on the 8th along with a second 789. They will probably use one of the A333s that have been back in service for longer that may have less of chance of needing emergency maintenance maybe G-VSXY or G-VWAG.

I don’t think they’ll have enough. They will barely have enough to cover Orlando in the peak summer season let alone all of the other LHR/MAN/EDI leisure routes. But I can certainly see a leisure A339 configuration for at least six of them happening.

G-VNYL is positioning up to Manchester as VS911P in order to join G-VWOO in operating the JFK, BGI and ISB flights.
An A333 should position up early tomorrow morning.

I’m not sure which specific registration.

Considering most people will be going for WDW’s golden anniversary they should send up G-VGBR.

So there’s only UFO left out of the 333s to come back into service?

G-VNYC hasn’t yet either. She came to Heathrow for a bit then went to XMN for maintenance. I think she will remain there for a couple of weeks then return to service and then G-VUFO will need maintenance.

G-VUFO was pictured earlier today with no engine covers on at Manchester meaning that a departure is imminent.
