Wonder of anyone has had any experience of booking a Club Europe seat with BA but the seat map is showing full. Its on a little A320. Unfortunately 1 bag will be over 23KG so cant even book economy and pay extra for "over weight" bag as they only allow extra bags under 23kg.

Obviously the seats are actually all the same, but just wondering what happens if no seats in CW and I get downgraded. Will they still allow the heavy bag?

thanks

Is row 1 actually occupied or just blocked?

Thanks for quick reply

Showing 7 rows and all unavailable rather than blocked.

Unless the flight is today, I’d imagine they’ll move the curtain back. The chance of being downgraded is very slim… doubtful all those 28 people will even make the flight, even if the curtain isn’t moved.

Booked and upgraded on a full Alicante flight due to luggage like you on many times. As said, they just move curtain back and rebook (if economy full) people onto another airline (if they don't have n shows). The joys of the BA cabin having movable J is that they have added 4-5 rows on the day in past for on the day upgrades when you compare seatmap "before" on expertflyer with after as it actually flys..

I think the limit is the catering on board (as it's catered FROM London), but in summer on some routes (Alicante is definitely one) they do get a fair amount of on day upgrades. -> You do stand more chance doing it 24 horus before as they can load your meal on in London then.

I think the record i've seen is about 14 rows of J..
