New winter seasonal route to Phuket

Virgin Atlantic will launch a new winter seasonal route to Phuket from 18th October 2026.

Flights will operate three times weekly, with Boeing 787-9 aircraft and go on sale on 26th November..

Norse Atlantic are starting flights from MAN to BKK next month so demand must be there.. I would like to see VS attempts doing Perth .

Interesting that BKK wasn’t selected as the first Thai destination for VS, particularly given that BA are still serving it out of LGW instead of LHR, though HKT is more of a holiday destination that can utilise Virgin Holidays to help fill the flights whilst catering to a wide range of budgets. There’s also the fact that HKT isn’t heavily served from the UK except for one-stop options with the likes of Emirates, so I can see why VS are grasping the opportunity.
