Any LHR Hotel recommendations?

Arriving into T5 and usually use the Sofitel for ease, however for this month, the price is just mental.

Any recommendations for a hotel onsite with access to T3 for the stupid 8am flight to Orlando. Don't mind walking or using the Heathrow Express but would prefer to stay away from Uber / buses etc.

Although personally I prefer to Uber it directly into the UC wing

Upto last week, my choice was always the Crowne Plaza T4 as I arrive via the tube from King's Cross station and then depart using a taxi to the Upper Class Wing, however, since last week the Crowne Plaza is one of the LHR hotels that has now started their own drop-up charge (£7.20). HfP had an article about it this week. It's quite underhanded way they make you pay as well using an obscure app which has to be paid within a few minutes otherwise you are slapped with a £100 fine. This charge also cannot/will not be added to your hotel bill or the Uber/taxi charge.

They are using the argument that passengers are by-passing the standard LHR drop-off charges by dropping off at hotels and then walking to the terminals, however, the hotels charging this new fee are pocketing the drop-off charge themselves.

That now means you get will now get hit with 2 drop-off charges, one from the hotel (£7.20) when getting picked up and another official LHR drop-off charge being dropped off at the Upper Class Wing (£7.00). At least the Wing drop off charge is included in Uber/taxi charges.

I've now switched to the Hilton T4 as currently they don't charge their own drop-off feee (yet), though I suspect it's only a matter of time before this catches on at all other on-site LHR hotels

The Hilton at Paddington station is actually okay if you’re in one of their newer rooms.

Anything on the Bath Rd, you’d have to Uber / Bus and tbth, I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed in any of them more than once.

We stayed at the Hilton T4 in April before our trip to Canada and enjoyed it. Nice, airy lobby/bar/restaurant area, clean and modern rooms and able to get round to other terminals via the walkway to T4 and free Tube/Lizzy Line to other terminals. Think that will be our go-to LHR hotel in the future.

We’ve also stayed at the Radisson and the Renaissance along Bath Road, but the taxi fares for just a one mile journey to T2/T3 are a joke, especially in our case as we travelled down by train on this occasion. Hotel Hoppa probably isn’t much cheaper either. This was a factor in our decision to use Hilton T4 on this occasion.

Decided to give the Hilton Garden Inn at T2/T3 a shot. Less than half the price of the Sofitel and just a few mins away from Virgins check-in so will help Clubhouse time with the very early departure time.

Bit late for you -> But I have always tended to use the LHR Hatton Cross Hilton Garden Inn (ie, the other one from T2/T3 one with same name).

Why? It's about 4 mins walk from the Hatton Cross Tube, so easily accessible from all 5 terminals, and is also on bus routes to surrounding areas.

It also allows you to eat "off airport" at the pub (Green Man) on the road around corner, as well as an Indian also nearby (forget name, but it's in an old pub premises nearby). 10 minutre commute to Feltham too, which has *many* places to eat.

I like it so much I still have a rate code that's pretty much permanently available to me -> giving me "reasonable" priced Hotel rooms at LHR all the time.

For Virgin when UC I tended to Uber into the Exec wing, but for most other airlines, I'd just take the (direct) tube or bus. T4 is a wierd one from tehre as it's quicker to take bus than tube given location.

We've stayed there a few times, the issue is it's a longer walk to T4 tube from there, than from the Hatton Cross Garden Inn, and the tube connection to T5 requires a change at T1-3 anyhow (and the trains from T4 are less frequent).

The restaurant there is *very* good.(The Chinese fusion one), probabably my favourite in-hotel resturant around LHR though.

Best Hilton for exec lounge (I'm Diamond with Hilton) is the T5 one. The T4 one we do use, but rarely use the lounge there. However all of them take longer to the terminal (unless you flying from T4) than the hatton cross garden inn for any of the non-T4 terminals.

(I hate to say it, but I use the premier inn T4 far more often than the Hilton T4).

Avoid at all costs the T5 Hilton though for most non-T5 trips, it's a longer, costlier cab or bus ride to the terminals. I only really use T5 Hilton myself when I'm driving and using their car park whilst I travel. (They offer decent value park and stay rates).

You can tell I am Diamond from the 100+ nights a year I've been known to stay around LHR .

The rooftop bar with views over Heathrow are superb. The food was subpar however.

The official routing is through T2 and then to T3, but it’s a lot quicker just to walk along the road. Not sure if you’re supposed to, but no one told us off.

Yes, I did notice how it’s at the end of the walkway. As a long distance runner and someone who was about to take a 9 hour flight where movement is inevitably reduced, it didn’t bother me too much though it might do for those less able.

I believe you can request assistance from/to T4 to any of the hotels linked to that tunnel (Hilton, Premier Inn or the Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn Express). I've seen passengers being moved on buggies in both directions.

The Hilton is the furthest away followed by the Premier Inn. The Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn Express is the closest but you then have to use either an escalator or lift to drop down 1 level to get to the hotel lobby. The Hilton lobby is on the same level. No idea about the Premier Inn though sorry.

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 is ok, nothing to write home about.

Stayed at the Sofitel back on 29th and when I left the bar at kicking out time of midnight there was a man standing naked in the reception area.
