Hello all,

I have a question regarding TP renewal.

I flew in January 2026, earning 200 TP and that helped me retain silver status this year until my renewal date - Feb 27 2027. Those 200 TP would expire Jan 31st 2027.

I just recently flew last month also earning 200 TP. So those would expire May 2027.

So I have 400 TP, but with 200 TP expiring Jan 2027, I still need to obtain 200 TP by Feb 27 2027.

Sadly my next flights are next March 2027. That will earn me 200 TP.

So is my understanding correct that:

- Feb 28 2027: I would level down to Red Level. But still have 200 TP from my flights in May 2026 (that would expire in May 2027).

- By March 27 2027 : Would earn 200 TP. So would level up back to Silver status.

Just that I’ve just booked a V hols package for May 2027. I would earn double tier points (400), plus want to retain Silver for earning the bonus miles on the flight.

Sorry for the long post, I spoke to 2 agents with VA, one said I’d need to earn 400 TP regardless of May 26 200 TP, the other said I’d just need 200 TP as I’d still have 200 TP.

Thank you.

it's frustrating for many as it's almost impossible to travel on the exact same dates for holidays every year due to price school holidays, works and family commitments. My advice to you is you can earn additional tier points though partners you have are you mentioned V holidays. But you can earn with Air France/KLM on a weekend trip Amsterdam when I last did that it got me 80 TP. Also going via a Delta hub like Atlanta can score your additional tier points. I believer my trip for the Would Cup to Florida going via ATL will earn me 280 TP. So it's just a case of finding the best value for money to earn tier points.
