Morning all

Apologies if this is posted elsewhere.

Re

Am I correct in thinking I can take this out, gain the 20k MR points and then transfer these to my FC account?
If so this is 20k FC miles for £95 (or less if including the Quidco cashback)

Thanks :)

Did a quick search and could not find a topic relating to this but still familiarising myself with the site.

The gold card is offering 20,000 bonus points and double points on supermarket and petrol spend for the first 12 months. All for an annual fee of £95.

Sounds good for anybody just short of a VS reward.

So I could apply for the 'real' Amex card, use it for a year instead of my MBNA card then cancel and basically get the free 20k miles plus double miles on spend for less than £100?

You do need to spend £500 in the first 3 months though to get the 20K MR points so it will actually cost you £595 and don't forget this is a charge card not a credit card so balance has to be paid off in full every month.

Definitely going to go for this - with the Quidco cashback (and granted £500 spend) it's 20k FC miles for £35. Bargain.

Reminder for anyone using Quidco to clear your cookies first/use another browser if you've previously visited the Amex page, so it tracks correctly.

Thanks James

I pay off my MBNA card every month so that's not an issue and as I ram through as much spending as I can on nmy MBNA card the £ 500 wont be an issue so its a case of using this card rather than my MBNA

Only problem will be having to rememember yet another PIN !

So tasks for this afternoon

1. drink tea
2. set up quidco account (cant see this offer on casbackkings)
3. eact cake
4. clear cookies etc (the computer ones!)
5. apply for the new card

Great stuff, have applied via Quidco and been accepted (despite already having a BA Amex).

Given that i'm a member of Hilton, BA, and VS; does anyone have a good idea of the relative values of the different loyalty scheme pouint values? (e.g. is a BA airmile worth more than a VS airmile?).

Cheers,

Dave

It is yes, so I have merged the topics to avoid duplication and confusion.

:D No worries, feel free to remove the post if you prefer, I've removed all the info to save taking up space etc.

I've not seen one that compares across schemes. I once accessed a site that had a calculator on it that enabled you to decide whether to use Hilton points or pay for a hotel stay, and that was complex enough. I suspect that a straighforward "x points for y miles" comparison would be complicated enormously by the availability of reward seats. I guess 200k FC miles are basically worth b*gger all if you're trying to fly to Florida in the summer...

D*mn! I knew my scheme was flawed.

Firstly thanks for all those that flagged this offer. Applied and accepted on Saturday, however nothing shows in my Quidco?

Anyone know how quickly this deal tracks into your Quidco account?

thanks

Hasn't tracked for me or for anyone as far as I'm aware. As I understand it Amex send it all to quidco in one go so you'll need to be patient I'm afraid, could take a few weeks to show.

Thanks
Applied but no immediate decision for me probably on account of my Amex Red card. 20000 miles for £35 must be the bargain of the year.
