Does everyone have to chase all their miles on Shops Away? I've bought items from three retailers on Shops Away in recent weeks and not one has posted. I've chased the missing miles and two now show as pending, the other not yet. The pending ones are coming up to their 45 days so I'll be chasing again.

Do I shop at the wrong retailers? :(

I haven't used Shops Away for some time, but all mine used to post automatically - I don't think I ever needed to chase one.

Funny thing though - I recently had to chase one with Gate 365 (the BA equivalent) where as they used to post automatically as well.

Maybe there's a glitch at the moment? The two websites look very similar so I'm guessing they are both provided by the same organisation but "badged" accordingly.

I always chase up. Sometimes they blame my computer & browser cookies for not tracking.
It has got better. 2 years ago, I done a big shop with House of Fraser who was offering a silly amount of miles per £1 & they refused to honor it. I fought my case & got all my points (several thousand - I basically done my whole Xmas pressie shop :P). Since then they have changed their system & its tracked much better.
Just be prepared to email them a copy of your invoice as proof of your purchase & find the tracking ID on their website.

I bought a computer from John Lewis and had to chase for 3 months before I got points.
Previous purchases such as Lounge passes came on pretty quick.
Mrs D has never had to chase her miles.

Am I far from the norm.

I don't chase miles, I always get them but before I buy, I reset safari, clear cookies etc then log on and don't divert, buy and pay.

I only occasionally have to chase so keep at it Whiterose, you'll get your miles eventually. Just make sure your click history matches when you purchased.

Thanks Bretty, click history does match and I've made sure VS know all details. It's a total of more than 2500 miles, so I definitely want them!

Shops Away can certainly be a nice little earner of miles, I've earned just over 46000 in 16 months for doing what I normally do. My shopping habits haven't really changed. Just wish Amazon would sign up, I'd be a miles millionaire then! :w

Only time I have used them was for a tv from John Lewis last November. Had to chase twice and points finally received at end of Feb.

How do you track what you think you have spent through Shops Away? :|

I find that generally even if the transaction history hasn't tracked the transaction, my click history at least shows that I visited the website! I've had to claim twice, once quite recently, and I heard back from Shops Away/VS customer service within about 10 days of completing the missing miles form. They said they were looking into it, and the pending miles appeared that day.

under my shopping up the top you got my transaction history & my clicks history.
Easy to match up any historic clicks with an invoice email confirming the purchase as its all time stamped

Excellent advice. I think that was exactly my problem because I had almost bought the item then came out. Went back a couple of days later and purchased. Then chased my miles for 3 months.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I claimed in February for missing miles for two transactions made in January, giving click history, invoice number and time of purchases for both items. Had an acknowledgement on 5 February, miles show as "pending". They still show as pending. I've chased and am still waiting for a response.

I claimed on 14 March for another missing transaction in February, again giving click history, invoice number and time of purchase. Had an ack for that claim but not showing as pending miles yet.

All three transactions show on my click history page.

Has anyone found a quick way of getting to Shops Away? Takes me four levels - FC login, click on right on "Online shopping, shops away". Takes me to Shops Away Page where I have to click on "Shop now" (what else was I likely to be doing FGS?). That takes me back to my FC account where I have a button to click on "Shop Now". ][|)

Hey all

I just booked a holiday using Expedia - I wont go into there 'holding fees' on this post but suffice to say I wont ever be doing that again...

I used Shops Away, when should I expect the miles to hit my account - or be visable?

Hi Dan. I've found it to be variable with miles earned through Expedia. I believe it says you'll only earn the miles after travelling, but in my experience (and especially if the flight/holiday is a long way off) they credit the miles in 2-3 months. I don't know if my experiences are indicative of the norm.

I have had a few purchases fail to track, and I think it may be because I did not empty my computers cache or turn off Adblocker before I used ShopsAway.

After I have raised the issue, they have always tracked and paid up in the end.

I do tend to buy goods through TopCashBack first though, as I can easily earn and transfer up to £50 a year to my Tesco Clubcard, which when exchanged is equivalent to 31,250 Virgin Miles or (in my case) 40,000 Avios. his is a far better deal than the airlines shopping portals.

When I have hit the TCB Tesco target I then buy through ShopsAway or BA Gate 365.

TCB has the widest choice of retailers. SA and G365 are very similar, though there are some retailers available one one and not the other.

Amazon is on TCB currently..but for Motoring and Luggage sales only.

Wish I hadn't looked, as I can see a Barbour bag that has taken my fancy. I blame you if I buy it ):

How easy is it to chase up missing transactions? I bought a TV from curry's and its showing in my click history and I clicked the click to earn button on the toolbar when it appeared but still not showing.

Also bought a new iMac taking advantage of 4 miles per £1 deal that was on but that's not showing up either. I will be really annoyed if I don't get these miles as I ordered it when I did to get the deal and all together it will be about 5,000 miles which I really need to help me get to my total.

I've sent a claim form for the TV but I will give the iMac a day or two more.

I usually cut & paste the click history when chasing up miles. I will be surprised if you get full miles for Imac, as apple products are sometimes excluded.
Also, if you had used some sort of discount code, etc. - then that can invalidate a claim for miles.
